MEN’S RUGBY 7’S TO CHALLENGE THE COUNTRY’S BEST UNIVERSITY SQUADS

DAY 1 RESULTS

Humber 19 – UVIC2: 24
Humber 26 – Queen's 12
Humber 34 – Regina 10

LANGFORD, British Columbia: The Humber Hawks men's rugby 7's squad will return to National University 7's Rugby Championships in Langford, British Columbia this week, and will look to improve on their best ever performance which resulted in a Plate Championship last year.

They will open the 2-day event on Friday, March 6th, and are in a 3 team pool with McMaster University and the University of Alberta.

Rugby 7's is a unique sport, as it is very different than the traditional sport of men's rugby. The sheer fact that there are only 7 players on the same size playing field that the 15's play on indicates that there is a lot of space, and the ability to run and pass becomes paramount. The grueling ground battles just do not take place very often in this game.
