WOMEN’S SOCCER HEAD TO PROVINCIALS WITH PERFECT RECORD

VAUGHAN, ON: The Humber Hawks women's indoor soccer team went unbeaten in pool play to win their region outright. The Hawks have now qualified for the OCAA Championships, a tournament in which they are the two time defending OCAA Champions.

In their regional qualifier Humber dominated pool play and won all three of their games. In game one they met St. Lawrence Brockville who posed little threat to the Hawks as they won the game handily 4-0. Game two pitted Humber against Confederation who played the Hawks tight but they just could not keep Humber's high powered offence off the board and Humber posted a 2-0 win. The final match was against Fanshawe, the last team to win the title other than Humber. Once again their opponent yielded little resistance and Humber won 3-1.

The Hawks finished the tournament a perfect 3-0-0 and are looking for a three-peat at the OCAA Championship final which will be held at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Ontario. The tournament will be held from Thursday March 21 to Friday March 22 and will be comprised of the top eight teams in the province.
