Humber Golf set to defend national titles

The Humber golf teams brought home four national gold medals last season, leaving Deer Creek Golf Course with six medals in total.

The men's squad returned to national glory for the first time since 2012, defeating André-Laurendeau by 20 strokes. Matthew Bremer became Humber's seventh individual champion, while rookie Daniel Talmage brought home the bronze medal.

The women's squad successfully defended their national title, leading the tournament from start to finish. Hayley McCallum became the second golfer in program history to win the CCAA individual title, while Madison Ouellette won the silver medal.

Men's

Humber is four-for-four this season, winning every tournament they've competed in this season. Fresh off its 23rd OCAA crown, the Hawks have had at least one golfer score under-par in every tournament. Rookie Matt Morris won the OCAA individual title, becoming the fourth golfer in team history to finish a three-day event under par. Talmage and Trey Ross finished in a tie for third place.

Women's

Humber won the OCAA title for the fourth straight season, and McCallum became the first women's golfer in conference history to win three individual titles. Ouellette finished on the podium for the third time, winning the bronze medal.

The Course

Created as a nine-hole course along the St. Charles River in 1920, the Lorette Golf Club expanded to 18 holes in 1964. Located in Quebec City, the par-72 course is 6,604 yards from the tips, with a slope rating 128.
