Men's golf captures program's 23rd provincial title

WINDSOR – Humber men's golf returned to provincial glory, capturing the team gold medal Wednesday evening at the Ambassador Golf Club. The Hawks jumped out to an 11-stroke lead after day one and cruised to the program's 23rd provincial title – the first since 2019.

A Humber trio finished on the podium, led by freshman Matt Morris who captured the individual silver medal. The St. Catharines native finished two-under-par for the tournament, firing a 70 on the final day to move up one spot.

Trey Ross and Daniel Talmage finished in a tie for third place, earning the bronze medal. Ryan Holwell and Matthew Bremer narrowly missed podium finishes, as all five Humber golfers finished in the top five and were named to the OCAA All-Ontario team. Holwell's opening round of 68 was a tournament-low for Humber.

Humber defeated the 2022 OCAA Champions, the Fanshawe Falcons, by 30 strokes, and third place St. Clair finished 45 strokes back.
