KERFOOT'S 2003-04 GOLF SEASON
Inducted into the OCAA Hall of Fame in 2015, Brad Kerfoot played a pivotal role in Humber’s transformation into a national powerhouse.
In 2003, Kerfoot led Humber to its third consecutive CCAA national title after shooting a three-day total 217, capturing the individual silver medal.
Later that varsity season, the Hawks battled the best colleges and universities in the country at the 2004 RCGA Championship at Wyldewood Golf Club in Hornby, Ontario.
Looking to make a statement after losing the inaugural tournament the year before, the Hawks jumped out to an early first round lead after a course record 69 from Kerfoot.
A stellar third round allowed the Hawks to erase a three-stroke deficit and head into the final round leading by 14 strokes, before easily winning the tournament by a dominant 22 strokes over the University of Ottawa. Kerfoot captured the individual title, while teammate Jim Zwolak finished fourth.
Kerfoot and Zwolak would join coach Ray Chateau in representing Canada at the 2004 FISU World University Golf Championships in Korat, Thailand.
Kerfoot continued his hot play into the summer, finishing T17 at the Canadian Amateur and competing in the U.S. Public Links Championships.
