2013 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - LARGEST CCAA EVENT EVER HELD
Over the years, Humber Athletics has built a reputation as one of the best championship hosts in the country. In November 2013, Humber College had the opportunity to host its first CCAA Cross Country Championship, resulting in the largest CCAA event ever hosted.
The event, which featured over 35 schools from across Canada, was live streamed for the very first time.

This weekend, Humber hosted the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) national cross country running championship, which involved 35 schools from across Canada running five and eight-kilometre courses through the trails that crisscross the back of the North Campus.
“This was the largest event of its kind at this level, and we’re thrilled that it was at Humber,” says Teresa Arnini, the co-coach of Humber’s varsity cross country team. “It’s like the Olympics for us – all of our athletes were striving to give the best performance of their lives.”
“The course was challenging but very scenic,” explains Arnini. “Competitors ran on the athletic field and along the trails, and had to tackle a couple of hills. It wasn't easy.”
The Humber Hawks had their best-ever performance in men's national cross country, capturing the team silver medal at the CCAA championship this weekend. The women's team placed fifth overall.
