VOLLEYBALL WINS TEN CONSECUTIVE OCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Over the last decade, the Humber Hawks women’s volleyball program has put together a run that never has and may never be duplicated in any other OCAA sport. Since 2008, the Hawks have won 10 consecutive provincial titles, including 130 straight OCAA matches.

WINDSOR, Ont -- No. 2 Humber women's volleyball program won its tenth consecutive conference championship, capturing the OCAA title with a dominant straight set sweep over No. 12 Durham (20-1) Sunday evening at the St. Clair Sportsplex.
It was the 130th consecutive OCAA victory for the Hawks, who finished 21-0 in OCAA play for the sixth consecutive season. Humber also improved to 3-1 against Durham in OCAA championship matches and 9-3 all-time in postseason play.

After winning a tight contest against the St. Clair Saints in the semi-finals, Humber put together one of its most dominant performances of the season to earn its league leading 14th OCAA gold medal.
The Hawks jumped out to an early lead in the first set, dominating the Lords in the early goings of the match. After Durham rallied from behind to tie the game at 20, Humber went on a 5-0 run to close out the set.
After the close first set, the Hawks jumped out to a quick 21-9 lead in the second set. The combination of Alexandra Newman, Breanna Golding, Elizabeth Deakin-Poot, and Gabie Miletic at the net made it nearly impossible for Durham to have any clean swings on the ball as Humber cruised to a 25-12 win.
Fighting for its season, Durham took its first lead of the match in the third set 13-12, but an 8-0 run by the Hawks helped Humber retake the lead for good. A service ace from all-star Devan O'Connor concluded the match as Humber went onto win 25-18.

O'Connor was named Player of the Game for Humber after finishing with a match-high 14 kills and two service aces. Rookie of the Year Breanna Golding finished with 12 kills and three stuff blocks, while libero Kyla Wilkins displayed her defensive prowess and finished with a match-high 20 digs.
Wilkins and O'Connor were named Championship All-Stars, while Windsor native Gabie Miletic was named Championship MVP.
After winning a CCAA bronze medal last season, the Hawks earned a spot in the CCAA national championship tournament hosted by Camosun College in Victoria, B.C. from March 8-12.
With 317 career victories under his belt, Chris Wilkins now sits second all-time in Humber coaching annals.
