Czuchnicki Selected to Run for Canada in the IAU's Six-Hour Global Run

ETOBICOKE – With the uncertainty surrounding organized sport around the globe, the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) have conceived an innovative way to compete, while staying safe. In the spirit of universal camaraderie and morale building, the IAU has announced the Six-Hour Global Solidarity Run, which will take place from August 29 and 30.

Team Canada could nominate up to nine men and nine women to compete, with Humber's Cole Czuchnicki among those selections.

How the competition works:

  • All members of the federation will take part in the six-hour race which can be run on either August 29 or August 30.
  • Athletes can run indoors or outdoors but would need to record their performance on one of the many sports platforms like Strava or Garmin.
  • Each federations team manager would need to verify and check their athletes' performances and then submit their tabulated results to the IAU.

An OCAA All-Academic selection, Czuchnicki joined Humber cross country in 2018, recording a seventh-place finish at provincials, hosted by Centennial College. That season, he was selected to the All-Ontario team and named the Humber men's cross country most valuable player.
