HAWKS LEAD SWEEP WITH DEFENCE OF WOMEN'S OCAA TITLE

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON: The Humber Hawks women's cross country team got things off to a soaring start at the 2015 OCAA Women's and Men's Cross Country Championships host by Sault College on Saturday afternoon. The women won the OCAA title for the fourth time in five years, and its second consecutive crown. Just an hour or so later, it was the men who completed the sweep, winning the team title as well.

The most unique thing about the women winning, was not the fact they won without 2014 Individual champion Lindsay Webster, it was that not a single Hawk runner made the individual podium. This "team-first" is something special and not found in many sports that recognizes solo performances.

The placement of the Humber runners was awe-inspiring, with the team placing 6, 7, 9, 11, 16 and 20. Their team score, which counts the top four racers was 33 points and comfortably outdistanced the second place Conestoga Condors.

6 -           Coby Phillips                       All Ontario Second Team
7 -           Katherine White               All Ontario Second Team
9 -           Ivon Jaimes                        All Ontario Second Team
11 -         Hannah Carley                   All Ontario Second Team & Rookie of the Year
16 -         Claire Brown
20 -         Cara Coutts
