SUDBURY, ON: The Hawks extended their regular season record to 3-0, as they played defeated Boréal in three straight sets on Sunday afternoon, in their final game of the weekend.
With a huge kill by Rrezart Sadiku, the Hawks were off to an intense start. As Boréal struggled to return the ball over the net, Humber quickly to command. Placing down kill after kill, the Hawks pushed the Vipers to call a time out at 15-9. Once the teams hit the court again, Kamyn Wilkins forced down a kill then preceded to go on a four point serving run, consisting of 2 aces. The final score to the opening set was 25-13.
Humber quickly gained the momentum in the second set as Kamyn Wilkins slammed down a huge outside kill. This was short lived as the Hawks gave away points via many unforced errors, letting Boréal come back from a five point deficit. The Hawks cleaned up their act at 11-9, taking the momentum back and going on a seven point serving run. As Boréal began to lose control of their side, Humber now had an eight point lead. With a huge kill by rookie Rafael Hilário, Humber forced the Vipers into a timeout at 20-11. Following the time out, Rafael hit the back court and nailed two aces into the court. The Hawks finished the second set, winning 25-14.
The Hawks had a slow start into the third set, falling behind Boréal by three points. This began to turn around as right side Rafael Hilário hit the service line with a five point run. Nailing down two aces, the Hawks pulled into a 7-5 lead. This was widened into a 12-9 lead as Dean Myrie slammed three kills onto the Vipers court. The Vipers coach called a timeout to try and regain their momentum. This failed though, as the Hawks continued to pick up and kill everything that entered their court. The Hawks ended the set 17-25.
The lead scorers in this match were Rafael Hilário and Dean Mylie, earning 7 and 5 kills respectively.

The Hawks will travel to Windsor to play against the St. Clair Saints next Saturday.
