Luca Gasparotto named 2022 Humber Male Athlete of the Year
After more than 100 career professional caps in Scotland, Luca Gasparotto joined the men's soccer squad and made an immediate impact on Humber's backline. The North York native led the Hawks to the program's eighth national title, earning the CCAA Exemplary Leadership award.
Gasparotto became the 22nd CCAA All-Canadian in program history after earning the Central Division Player of Year honours. In the toughest division in OCAA soccer this season, Gasparotto made an immediate impact, leading the top backline in the province. The former Glasgow Rangers defender helped Humber clinch the division title for the 24th time while holding opponents to a league-low 15 shots on goal in six matches. At six-foot-two, he played a major role on set pieces for the Hawks as well, recording two tallies during the regular season.
