No. 2 Men’s Golf Wins Third Straight Provincial Title, Watt Captures Individual Silver

KINGSTON – Humber navigated wet conditions to post a final round nine-over at Catarqui Golf & Country Club to capture its third straight OCAA men's golf title – 11th since 2006. The Hawks entered the final round leading Fanshawe and St. Lawrence by eight strokes. Humber finished the Championship at 30-over (870), followed by Fanshawe (882) in second place at 42-over par and St. Lawrence (883) at 43-over.

2017 Individual Champion Conner Watt (68-73-71) placed on the podium, finishing two-over par to capture the individual silver medal – earning All-Canadian honours. For Humber, it was the 30th All-Canadian selection in program history and Watt became the eighth player to earn the selection more than once.

Helping lead the championship effort, first-year Iz Hustler made a late push to climb the board (4th, +5), followed by Cameron Brennan (7th, +11), and Cameron Griffin (T8th, +12). All scoring players finished in the top-eight for Humber.

The Hawks led from start to finish, ending round one with a slim three-stroke lead over the hometown St. Lawrence Vikings. Humber led the field with 13 par breakers, finishing with seven birdies and eagles.

Humber was dominant to close out the event, shooting a combined nine-over 289, which was four strokes better than any other OCAA program.
