No. 2 Men's Golf Readies for OCAA Championship

KINGSTON – No. 2 Humber men's golf will play for its provincial best 22nd OCAA title at Cataraqui Golf and Country Club, Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.

Last Year
The Hawks captured its second consecutive OCAA title last season at FireRock Golf Course. Humber beat the field by four strokes, shooting 31-over par (297, 296, 290 – 883).

Cameron Griffin (74-71-74) placed on the podium, finishing six-over par to capture the individual silver medal. It was Griffin's best finish this season, and he became the 29th Humber golfer to be named a CCAA All-Canadian.

Scouting Humber

  • All-Canadian Cameron Griffin has lead Humber in three tournaments this season, including an individual title at the McMaster Invitational on Sept. 26.
  • Iz Hustler will be making his provincial championship debut and won the individual title at Lakehead after shooting a four-under 68.
  • All-Canadian's Conner Watt and Cameron Brennan, plus Matthew Bremer will round out Humber's fivesome.

No. 2 Humber will be joined by Niagara, Durham, Georgian, St. Lawrence, Fanshawe, Mohawk, Fleming, Lakehead, St. Clair, and Confederation.

The Course
Cataraqui was designed by famed Canadian golf course architect, Stanley Thompson, and boasts one of the best courses in the entire country and the only one in the surrounding area ranked on SCOREgolf's 2016 top 100 Canadian courses (No. 91). Overlooking Lake Ontario and currently enjoying its centennial year, the course features rolling fairways and small breaking greens designed to challenge players' shot-making skills.

The par-70 course is 6,497 yards from the blue tees, with four par 3's and two par 5's.
