Four podium finishes for Badminton at Fanshawe Invitational

LONDON - In its first OCAA action of the 2022-23 season, Humber badminton finished on the podium in four of the five disciplines. Under the guidance of first-year head coach Chloe Rowe, the Hawks left London with a first-place finish in women's doubles, a second-place finish in women's singles and mixed doubles, and a third-place finish in men's doubles. 

Rookie Zeel Rohit put the OCAA on notice, finishing with a 4-1 record in women's singles to finish second place. The Bharuch, India native also finished first when she partnered with 2022 CCAA national champion Airi Moromisato in women's doubles, finishing first with a 4-0 record.

Moromisato and Nishant Batra finished second in mixed doubles with a 4-1 record, while Batra and Tejas Sreeshan finished third in men's doubles with a 3-1 record.

What's Next?

Humber badminton will compete at the Centennial invitational on January 13 - its final tune-up before the OCAA regional championship begins on February 3.
