Women's soccer concludes regular season with win at Sault
SAULT STE. MARIE – The Humber women's soccer team concluded the regular season with a 10-0 win on the road against the Sault Cougars (0-6, 4th Central). Kaitlynn Russell continued her hot streak, adding a career-high five tallies in the match. All five of her goals came in the opening 45 minutes, while Giulia Zanardi added her fourth tally of the season to give Humber (4-2, 2nd Central) a six-goal lead at the break.
Emma Stushnoff added two goals in the second half, while rookie Elisa Oliveira added a tally of her own.
Humber Highlights
- Kaitlynn Russell's 13 regular season goals are the third-most in program history and the most in a season since 2009. Her 2.17 goals-per-game average is a new program record, surpassing Hall of Famer Joanna Vitale's record of 1.67 set in 1999.
- Senior keeper Vanessa Fiore finishes her career with 27 clean sheets in 41 regular-season matches.
- Giulia Zanardi finishes fourth all-time with 29 career regular-season tallies, while Rebecca Spratt finishes fifth with 21.
- Under head Mauro Ongaro, the Hawks have qualified for the OCAA postseason for 15 consecutive seasons.
