Dominika Philip, who has been battling injuries, stepped up big for Humber during its quarter-final match at Niagara. In a win-or-go-home match, Dom and her teammates kept the Knights off of the board, holding Niagara to a season-low 11 shots, five of which ended on goal.
Along with back mate Remi Pelletier, the duo held the highest-scoring team in the South Division off of the stat sheet for the first time this season. Niagara featured the highest-scoring teammates in the conference, as Sydney Sica and Terin Hultink both ranked fourth in the province with nine tallies, each. Humber soccer will now head to its fifth consecutive final four, facing the Fanshawe Falcons in the semifinal round on Oct. 29.

If you look up toughness in the dictionary, you may see a picture of Tyrus Bath. The second-year catcher played behind the dish in all five of Humber's postseason games, helping the Hawks win the OCAA silver medal - the program's sixth consecutive podium finish.
The grind of a five-game tournament in three days can be a daunting task for any catcher. Mix in frigid weather, a few hit by pitches, and a dozen or so blocked balls, you begin to get a picture of exactly how tough Bath was over the weekend. He also finished with a tournament-high eight RBIs, while leading his team with a .444/.688/1.243 slash-line. At the conclusion of the championship, he was named to the all-tournament team.
