TORONTO, ON - No. 9 Humber men's soccer pursuit of five consecutive OCAA titles ended Sunday afternoon, falling to No. 4 Conestoga, 3-0.  It was the first time a Humber squad had been held scoreless against an OCAA opponent during the Coach Aquino era.

Match Recap

Both teams started with conservative pay to start this OCAA final, with neither club wanting to surrender the opening goal. The Humber backs stayed steady, keeping the Condors out of the Hawks' box. Conestoga would score the opening goal in the 17th minute, converting on a corner kick to make it 1-0 in favour of the Condors.

The game stayed even after the goal, with both squads getting chances on either end. Humber would have the majority of the chances in the first half but would fail to convert on any of them. The half would finish 1-0 Condors.

The trends from the first half continued in the second, with Humber getting lots of chances but failing to convert. Conestoga was focused on the defensive end of the pitch, with defenders collapsing back to protect the box.

Humber had multiple chances midway through the half, Danny Medeiros had a great look from the right side that the Condors keeper stopped. Humber would fail to convert on their chances and open the door for the Condors in the 74th minute.

Conestoga would take advantage of a defensive lapse and score again to go ahead by two. The Condors would score again after another defensive breakdown from Humber, making it 3-0.  The game would end 3-0 in favour of the Condors.
