ETOBICOKE - On a windy day at Centennial Park, No. 9 Humber (9-1-2) advanced to the OCAA semifinal, routing Cambrian, 8-2. Danny Medeiros led the charge for the Hawks, scoring three goals, while Christian Keshishian would add a brace and an assist for the Hawks. Humber's eight tallies were a new program postseason record.

Match Recap

Cambrian set the game's tone early, playing an extremely defensive 4-4-2 formation. The Golden Shields were intent on thwarting the Hawks' formidable offence. Unfortunately for Cambrian, their defensive positioning would not stop the Hawks as Humber controlled the pace of play right from kickoff. After applying some serious pressure on the Cambrian defence, Danny Medeiros would break through with a great move at the top of the box to beat the defender and get one-on-one with the keeper. Medeiros would finish with his left and put Humber up 1-0.

Not even five minutes later, Medeiros would get his second of the game, finishing a Matthew Laic cross to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead, just over 22 minutes into the game. Humber would extend their lead to three moments later with Christian Keshishian slicing through two defenders and beating the keeper. Humber would convert once again late in the half, as Medeiros would finish a give-and-go play with Luca Pinto, scoring his third of the match. The half would end 4-0 for Humber.

With Humber up 4-0, they would step on the gas, extending their lead 20 seconds into the second half. Christian Keshishian would score his second of the game, finishing a beautiful Noah Macintyre through-ball, giving Humber a 5-0 lead. Less than ten minutes later, Keshishian would steal the ball in the offensive zone, setting up Abdul-Aziz Babawale to make the score 6-0. Cambrian would end Ezequiel Carrasco's clean sheet, scoring a penalty kick in the 64th minute. With the clean sheet gone, Humber returned on offence, determined to extend their lead. After a ball bounced around in the box, Isiah Noel would find it and convert, scoring his first of the season. Humber would extend their lead in the 87th minute with Luca Pinto converting on a Franz Mella cross to make it 8-1. Cambrian would score a penalty kick in the 90th minute, making it 8-2 ending the game and securing Humber's place in the semifinals.
