ETOBICOKE – Humber men's rugby (2-2, 3rd West) cruised to a big home win Friday evening, handing the Seneca Sting (3-1, 2nd West) their first loss of the season, 45-12.
Christopher Dominey opened the score for the Hawks in the sixth minute, recording his second try of the season after a scrum near the try line.
After a long defensive battle, Curtis Sandiford went streaking down the sidelines, scoring Humber's second try in the 33rd minute. Juan Manago added a try of his own as time ran out in the half as the Hawks led at the break, 21-0.
2016 Men's Curling National Champion Zack Shurtleff made his 2019 debut for the Hawks, finishing with 15 points (one try, five converts), while Shermar Morris finished with ten points on two tries. Jean-Claude Mateus added a try of his own, rounding out the scoring for the Hawks.
Humber rugby will head on the road for two games to conclude the regular season, beginning with Georgian (3-0, 1st West) on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.
