The Storyline
The Humber men's rugby team returns after a four-year hiatus, opening the 2019 season Friday afternoon against the Georgian Grizzlies.

The game will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network beginning at 4:30 p.m. with Andrew Milani and Adam Lucier on the call.

Fresh Faces
A young squad will gear up for Humber this season, with all but two players showcasing OCAA experience. Pouya Sadatsharify enters his third season, while Christopher Dominey will enter his second year.

At the Helm
Head coach Fabian Rayne will return for his sixth season with an all-time record 33-4 (.892). Coach Rayne led Humber rugby to four straight OCAA titles from 2011 to 2014. Assistant coaches Andre Rose-Green and Darryl Snider will return to the Humber sideline, as well.

Scouting Georgian

  • The Grizzlies won the West Division title last season, finishing the year with a 5-1 record.
  • In the provincial title match, Georgian fell to Durham, 21-15.
  • Georgian featured the league scoring champion last season. Ryan Connolly finished with 96 points in six matches.

What's Next?
Humber will conclude its two-game homestand Sept. 20 when the Mohawk Mountaineers visit Valley Field. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.
