Shade Hansen receives Humber Female Rookie of the Year honours
From the moment Shade Hansen stepped in the circle for the Hawks, she immediately put the league on notice. The hard-throwing righty recorded 16 strikeouts in her debut and only needed five appearances to break Humber's single-season strikeout record.
Her 127 strikeouts for the season were more than six OCAA teams received from their entire pitching staff.
Hansen is just the third softball player to earn Humber Rookie of the Year honours and the first since Natalie Stoberman in 2013.
