Softball hosts twinbill Sunday for 2023 home opener

Humber softball, the 2022 OCAA bronze medal winners, kick off the 2022 varsity season on September 9 at Seneca, before returning home for two games on Sept. 10 against St. Clair and Sheridan.

2022 Highlights
  • The Hawks set a new program record with nine mercy victories last season.
  • Humber captured the OCAA bronze medal, finishing on the podium for the third straight season.
  • The Hawks established a new program record with 24 home runs.
At the Helm

The all-time winningest coach in program history returns for his sixth season leading the softball team. In five years, Duaine Bowles owns a 106-58 overall record.

Brandon Costa (4th season), Maddie Pasma (3rd Year), Meaghan Murphy (2nd Year) and Alexa Vassos (2nd Year) return to Coach Bowles' staff for the 2023 season.

Four players will be donning the navy and gold for the first time this season:

Final Farewell

Meagan Muir, Alexis Ferreira, and Hannah Koziolek will be competing in their fifth and final season for the Hawks.

Record Watch
  • Humber ace Meagan Muir needs one win to move into second all-time in program history. The Brampton native's 2.04 ERA is the best in team history.
  • Hannah Koziolek and Alexis Ferreira, sit seventh and eighth all-time on Humber's RBI list. The duo also sit in the top-two with the most career stolen bases.
Postseason

Humber softball will once again be heading to the CCSA National Championship, hosted by the University of Victoria in British Columbia, from October 6 to 9.

The 2023 OCAA Championship tournament will be hosted by Humber College from October 19 to 21.
