ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks dropped an 11-1 decision to the Fanshawe Falcons on Sunday morning, thus earning the 201 OCAA bronze medal. The game itself was unexpected, as the Hawks had defeated the Falcons in all five meetings leading up to this key match-up. In fact, Humber defeated Fanshawe less than 24 hours earlier in the tournament opener.

ETOBICOKE, ON: Brandon Costa, a third year standout on the Humber Hawks men's baseball team, was selected to the 2016 OCAA Men's Baseball All Star Team. The announcement was made on Thursday night at the tournament awards banquet, just prior to the opening of the 2016 championship event, which is being held at Connorvale Park on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22.

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks and London’s Fanshawe Falcons will open up the 2016 OCAA Men’s Baseball Championship on Friday, October 21 at 11:00 am, at Connorvale Park in beautiful southern Etobicoke.

HAWKS CLINCH SECOND WITH ROAD SPLIT VERSUS DURHAM

OSHAWA, ON: Just a couple of weeks ago, the Humber Hawks men’s baseball team sat with a 1-5 record and in danger of not participating in the 2016 OCAA championships which they are hosting. But, how things can change in a couple of weeks. Humber ends the regular season on a run of 12 wins and just two losses, and will earn a home game in the playoffs as they have clinched second place. On Saturday afternoon, in sunny Oshawa, Humber and the host Durham Lords split a pair of games. Durham held on for a 7-6 win and game one, while the Hawks scored early and often to run away with a 6-2 win. Humber’s opponent in the opener of the provincial championships, schedule for 11:00 am at Connorvale Park in Etobicoke next Friday, will be determined on Sunday as Fanshawe and Durham have doubleheaders left to play. With the split, the Hawks end the season with a solid 13-7 record.
