HAWKS FALL TO ST. CLAIR AT CHAMPIONSHIPS

ETOBICOKE, ON: The final game of day one of the 2016 OCAA Men's Baseball championship tournament had the St. Clair Saints (1st OCAA) playing the host team, Humber Hawks (2nd OCAA).

With both teams' aces pitching, the game remained scoreless until the Saints scored two runs in the bottom of the third.

The Saints scored another three runs in the fourth inning to lead the game 5-0. It wasn't until the fifth inning that Humber's Brandon Lyon's scored a run on an RBI single from Aaron Arbic-Cohen

The Hawks threatened in the sixth with a double from Kenneth Hahnfeld that hit off the top of the wall, putting two runners in scoring position.  Three-time OCAA Pitcher of the Year Kyle Breitner proceeded to get three straight outs to escape the jam.

From there, St. Clair cruised to a 9-1 win and an advance into tomorrows gold medal game.

Hawks player of the game was awarded to Blake Kauer and Miguel Cienfuegos from St. Clair.

Humber will play Fanshawe in the bronze medal game tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. at Connorvale Park. The winner will advance to the gold medal game at 1:00 p.m.
