
Men's cross country captures OCAA bronze medal
CAMBRIDGE – For the season straight season, No. 9 Humber's men's cross country team captured the OCAA bronze medal, while the women's squad narrowly missed a podium finish.
The 15-team race featured over 80 athletes, and all six members of the men's team finished in the top 46 – highlighted by Blaise Uglow's sixth overall finish. The Schomberg native's finish was Humber's best finish since Luke Deighan did it in 2015. Uglow was named a first-team all-star for his performance.
The six-kilometre women's race saw the Hawks once again narrowly miss a podium finish, sitting 10 points behind Mohawk in fourth. Rookie Leah Durnford put together another incredible race, finishing in seventh place and was named the OCAA rookie of the year and first-team all-star. Catherine Irwin finished behind her teammate in eighth place, earning a second-team nod.
