HAWKS OPEN EXHIBITION SEASON WITH TIDY WIN
VAUGHAN, ON: The 2016 Humber Hawks women's soccer team, complete with a list of new and talented rookies, took to the pitch on Wednesday afternoon at the Vaughan Soccer Centre. The Hawks sped out early to a lead, and then built on it, finally closes out the match in shutout fashion. The 2-0 exhibition victory provided the coaching staff with a lot of positives, but will make it tough to decide on the final squad as all players excelled on the day.
Rookies provided the scoring punch, as Rebecca Spratt scored five minutes into her first college game. Megan Ventour scored a beauty about 40 minutes in to expand the lead. Another freshman, Keeper Vanessa Fiore, was perfect in gaining the shutout.
Humber will now look to trim their roster, before the upcoming training camp at Blue Mountain next week.
