Jalen Menzies named Humber Male Athlete of the Year

Transferring from Holland College to join the Hawks for the 2023-24 season, Jalen Menzies made an immediate impact, averaging 20.8 points-per-game during the regular season. The Malton native finished the season with 375 points—the fourth-most in team history. Defensively, he was just as impressive, leading the nation in averaging 3.5 steals per game. His 63 thefts were a new program record, surpassing Gibson Eduful's record in 2016 by 17.

Menzies' playoff performances were just as impressive, helping Humber capture its 16th provincial title with a win over George Brown.

Menzies and the Hawks went to New Brunswick and won the CCAA bronze medal, and during Humber's playoff run, he was the leading scorer in six of its eight games.

Menzies becomes the 16th Humber men's basketball player since 1987 to garner Athlete of the Year recognition.
