2024 Humber Varsity Award winner

Meaghan Mallett becomes first female curler to be named Humber Athlete of the Year

For the third consecutive season, Meaghan Mallett and the Hawks captured the OCAA provincial title, finishing the tournament 5-0 to earn her third straight championship MVP selection. It was the first time any Humber curling program captured three straight OCAA gold medals.

After a slow start to the CCAA tournament in New Brunswick, the Hawks rebounded to win five straight matches to earn a playoff berth. After a semifinal loss to Concordia, Humber was in tough against the defending national champions in the bronze medal match, facing off against Augustana.

Jumping out to a 4-1 lead after five ends, Humber was able to hold on and beat the Vikings, 6-5. It was Humber's fourth CCAA podium finish, and the first since 2020.

Mallett is the first female curler to garner Humber Athlete of the Year honours.
