ROVILLE DANIELS JOINS HUMBER'S THERAPY TEAM

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Department of Athletics, Recreation and Leisure Education is proud to announce the hiring of Certified Athletic Therapist Roville Daniels.

Daniels will be filling in for long-time head Athletic Therapist Jennifer Bell, who is on maternity leave with her second child.

"I am extremely excited to work with Humber athletics," said Daniels.  "I completed a placement here at Humber as a student and I understand the strong winning and academic culture.  I am looking forward to using my past experiences and skillset to contribute this upcoming season."

Born and raised in Dubai, UAE., Daniels and his family moved to Whitby, On.,  where he went on to attend All Saints Catholic Secondary School and play a few seasons of rugby.  Upon graduation, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Health Sciences with a concentration in Kinesiology from UOIT.  Later, Daniels earned a post-graduate certificate in Athletic Therapy at York University.

"I became an athletic therapist because of both my passion for sports medicine and enhancing sport performance," added Daniels. "Also, my interest in Batman as well; however that's a story for another day."

After Daniels received his certification, he started working at PEAC School for Elite Athletes in Downsview Park and then went on to become the Interim Head Athletic Therapist at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick for the 2015/16 season.  Daniels has also worked with Cricket Canada, Ontario Rugby and Beach Volleyball and volunteered at the Pan Am Games.

"I am excited to have Roville join our therapy team," said head Athletic Therapist Melanie Evens.  "His prior experience with high-level sport programs will make him a valuable asset to our therapy team."
