  • The Hawks grabbed a silver medal at provincials for the second straight season.
  • Humber finished the season with an overall record of 19-5 (.792).
  • Jake Gomes set the single-season record for services aces (50) and career record for assists (743).

At the Helm

Pushing Forward
With the departures of key offensive hitters, the Humber Hawks will depend on the guidance from team leaders Rrezart Sadiku, Andrew Blakey, and Rady Kim to pave the way for the new players on the court.

Fresh Faces
Coach Wayne Wilkins has revamped his team for the 2019-20 campaign, adding six new players to create a team of 16.

Jaydon Milne joins Humber for his third season of post-secondary eligibility after playing two years with the Niagara Knights. The outside hitter has almost 400 career points in the OCAA, to go along with 196 digs.

Highlighting the top recruits is Joshua Fadare, who played on the Canadian Youth National Team. The other freshman joining the squad are Christopher Bowen, Loreto Cerasuolo, Safon Manning, and Josh Ekeanyanwu.

Schedule

  • The Hawks start their season on home court against the Niagara Knights at 8 p.m. on Oct 30.
  • The team will play a total of 18 conference matches throughout the season, including nine home games.
  • Humber will face CCAA national champion Fanshawe Falcons, as their second home game of the 2019/20 season.

Hot Start
In preseason action, Humber volleyball ripped off nine straight victories, winning the Seneca Invitational and Durham Adidas Cup. From those nine victories, eight were straight-set sweeps.
