Humber Leads the Nation With 15 CCAA Academic All-Canadian Selections

ETOBICOKE – The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) announced the 2019-20 CCAA Academic All-Canadian award recipients today and Humber Varsity proudly led the country with 15 selections.

The CCAA Academic All-Canadian award, presented by Brandew Athlete, is the CCAA's most prestigious student-athlete honour, epitomizing a commitment to academic success and athletic achievement.

As part of a new partnership, CCAA Academic All-Canadians receive complimentary access to the Brandnew Elite Athlete Transformation Program

Since 1997, the Hawks have only reached double-digit selections once, making its 15 honourees the most in program history. Due to this incredible success in the classroom and in sport, Humber Varsity is the proud recipient of the CCAA Academic All-Canadian Recognition Award, which is presented each year to the institution with the most student-athlete award recipients. Holland College, which led the country the previous five straight seasons, placed second with 10.

Humber badminton paced the way with five selections, while curling and volleyball followed closed behind with three.

With the continued success of the Varsity Academic Centre – led by academic coordinator Mallory Lawton – Humber Varsity saw one of its most prosperous seasons in the classroom. In March, the Hawks led the OCAA with 59 All-Academic selections.
