ETOBICOKE -  No. 3 Humber women's volleyball (16-0, 1st West) stayed undefeated Wednesday evening with a commanding sweep of the rival Sheridan Bruins (4-11, 8th West). The Hawks won in three sets (25-11, 25-15, 25-15). Te-Anna Stephenson led the way with eight kills and two digs, and Sydney Ferguson would add three kills and a game-high 13 assists.

Match Recap

Facing Sheridan, the undefeated Humber Hawks came out of the gates strong. Sheridan would stay even with Humber in the first set, tying the match at five early on. The no. three ranked Hawks quickly turned on the pressure though, going on a ten-point run that resulted in a 16-7-point lead and a Sheridan timeout. The Hawks would close out the set comfortably, winning 25-11. Te-Anna Stephenson led the way with eight kills and multiple solo blocks. Erika Dodd would add a game-high nine kills.

It was more of the same in the second set. Humber showed familiarity in their system and their squad, playing disciplined, precise volleyball. The Bruins made a valiant effort but fell short against the Hawks' powerhouses. Erika Dodd helped the Hawks to a 25-15 win with two clutch kills late in the set.

The third set was the tightest in the match with Humber only maintaining a three-point lead for most of the set. However, Humber showed poise and control, staying within their game plan and playing responsible volleyball. The Hawks would start to pull away down the stretch, finishing with a commanding 25-15 win. Te-Anna Stephenson was the player of the game with eight kills and two digs.
