No. 1 Women's Golf wins OCAA-best fifth straight provincial title
BARRIE – For the first time in OCAA history, No. 1 Humber women's golf captured the provincial team title for the fifth consecutive season. The Hawks were again dominant, leading wire-to-wire, to win the 14th OCAA team gold medal in program history.
After an opening round of two-over-par, senior Elaine Surjoprajogo went the distance, capturing her first OCAA individual gold medal, beating teammate Susan Chen by two strokes.
Chen's individual silver medal saw her named the OCAA Rookie of the Year – an award introduced for this season. Jordon Newlands narrowly missed a podium finish for the Hawks, finishing two strokes back of Bryden Dilley from Georgian in fourth place.
For the fourth straight year, Humber outpaced St. Clair for the gold medal, capturing the title by 35 strokes. Surjoprajogo, Chen, and Newlands were all named to the OCAA All-Ontario team.
