Omar Miles named the 2022 Mike Katz Coach of the Year
Hired two years ago to bring Humber basketball back to the top, this was the first official season for Omar Miles as the bench boss. The Coach O era is like none before it. A perfect 16-0 record, a national and provincial title and a squad that went from teammates to family in three short months.
Coach Miles became just the second head coach in Humber's history to win a national championship in his first season - joining legendary coach Michael Aquino who accomplished the feat in 2012. His squad led the conference in scoring and under his tutelage, DeQuon Cascart was named just the second player in program history to earn OCAA Athlete of the Year honours.
