
PREVIEW: Humber Badminton readies for OCAA Championship tournament
SCARBOROUGH – Humber badminton, the most decorated program in the conference, returns to the court Thursday morning to compete in the 2022 OCAA Championships at Epic Badminton Club, hosted by George Brown College.
The Tournament
The top-two finishers in each discipline will advance to the CCAA National Championship tournament in Edmonton, Alberta.
Welcome Back
Three Hawks will be returning from the 2019-20 season:
- 2019 national champion Victoria Duong is back, competing in her fourth season for the Hawks.
- Benjamin Houle, a 2020 OCAA All-Academic, is back for his second year.
- Melissa Duong, the massage therapy major, will be competing in her second season in the navy and gold.
Fresh Faces
Five new players will be competing for Humber badminton this season:
- Praanjal Taneja, Ghaziabad, India
- Nishant Batra, New Delhi, India
- Sirapob Kongubon, Thailand
- Airi Moromisato, Peru
- Cecilia Zheng, Markham, Ontario
