HAWKS PREPPING FOR THIRD LEG OF OCAA SEASON

CAMBRIDGE, ON: The Humber women's rugby sevens (6-2, 2nd OCAA) program will be headed on the road this weekend to compete in their third tournament of the season.

At the halfway mark of the season, the Hawks have dominated the league, outscoring their opponents 262-53.  Four Humber student-athletes are currently ranked in the top six in the OCAA in scoring.  Charli Mocon (Mississauga) is second in the league in scoring with 58-points, including a league leading 14 converts.  Christina Branch (Oshawa), Kareece McGregor (Whitby), and Daniella Grant (Stouffville) have 49, 45, and 35 respectively.

With rugby sevens in its inaugural year, the Hawks have found an early rival with the Conestoga Condors (6-2, 1st OCAA).  In two meetings this season, the Condors have beat Humber 19-17 and 24-22 at Humber Valley Field.  This weekend the Hawks will be at Conestoga and like nothing more than to finish 4-0 and beat the Condors on their own field.

First game of the day will come against the Sheridan Bruins at 9:00am.

After the Conestoga tournament, the Hawks have one remaining tournament before they compete in the first-ever OCAA rugby sevens provincial championship at Sheridan College.
