Bio

Following its inception as an OCAA Division II club, Jim Henderson helped usher the Humber women's basketball program into Division I, and the start of a winning tradition for the Hawks.

During his nine seasons as head coach beginning in 1991, Jim saw his teams reach the OCAA podium every year, winning gold, silver and bronze three times each.

Jim's career regular-season coaching record was a staggering 117-10, a winning percentage of .921. Humber's undefeated 1992-93 season was the first OCAA Division I championship in Hawks history.

Humber won consecutive provincial championships in 1998 and 1999, both in undefeated fashion. The Hawks won 36 straight OCAA games between Nov. 12, 1997 and Nov. 9, 1999.

Individually, Jim is a four-time OCAA provincial and two-time CCAA national Coach of the Year. He coached four different CCAA All-Canadians during his tenure, including Denice Cummings (twice), Aman Hasebenebi, Denise Perrier and Tanya Sadler (twice).

In 2019, Jim Henderson was inducted into the OCAA Hall of Fame.
