THALIA HANNIMAN NAMED CCAA ALL CANADIAN
MONTREAL: Humber Hawks women's volleyball fourth year Left Side Thalia Hanniman has been named the a CCAA All Canadian, at the 2015 CCAA Women's Volleyball Championship Awards Banquet held on Wednesday at Edouard Montpetit.
Thalia has been the best kept secret in the OCAA over her career at Humber, with stars such as Kelly Nyhof and Landis Doyle grabbing many top individual awards. Last year was a breakout season that saw her selected as a 1st Team All-Star and OCAA Championship All-Star.
This year she has established herself as the dominant outside hitter in the league. She won the OCAA Scoring title and currently ranks fourth in the nation in kill s per game. And, she will be awarded her third consecutive CCAA Academic All Canadian honor.
She has vaulted up the All-Time Hawk scoring rankings and now sits 4th all time. This mark is attained in only 4 years of play.
Humber has been a team that has had Middle's be the key figure in league and play-off play, but Thalia has made the Humber squad into one of its most complete teams ever. Over her career at Humber she has not lost a single game in OCAA action, and this has taken place with her as a starter in all 4 years.
As the team captain she has been asked to take on a number of key leadership roles on the team, and has done admirably as she is respected and well-liked by the coaching staff and the entire team.
Thalia is her playing the best volleyball of her career this season from both an individual, team and leadership point of view. Her statistics have her at the top of the entire league, and her impact game in and game out has helped the Hawks to success on the court.
