THREE NEW MEN’S BASKETBALL RECRUITS ARRIVE

Humber's Men's Basketball Team, coming off a 15-3 season that saw them capture a provincial bronze medal, announced three additions that should solidify a rotation that is already among Ontario's strongest. Curwin Elvis, Brayden Gohn and Kenny Ejim all arrive as established talents that should be a big part of what is shaping up to be an exciting year for the five-time national champions.

Gohn, a 6'5" small forward who played his club ball with the York Region Avengers, is a versatile wing who should strengthen the Hawks perimeter defense while adding outside shooting. He played his High School ball at Dr. Denison, where he twice qualified for OFSAA and was a big part of the program's success. Brayden sees himself doing anything he can to help the team in his first season, and the opportunity to contribute, along with the programs history of success, were the main factors in his decision to become a Hawk.

Adding to a position of strength, 6'0" Brampton native Curwin Elvis arrives with an already impressive list of accomplishments. The point guard captained his High School team, Edmund Campion, in each of his four seasons and was named the team's co-MVP last year. Curwin played his club ball with the Mississauga Monarchs, where made great strides as a floor general and became a more natural distributor. Elvis was named an All-Star at the Vaughan Classic, Henry Carr Early Bird Tournament and Sheridan Cup, as well as MVP at the George Brown Christmas Bash. Teaming up with reigning Rookie of the Year RJ Ramirez should leave the Hawks with one of the strongest point guard situations in the country.

Rounding out the trio of additions is versatile 6'6" power forward Kenny Ejim, who played his High School ball with St. Augustine. He then starred for the d'Youville Panthers, capturing a ROPSSAA Championship in the 2012-13 season and becoming a dominant force on both ends of the court. Ejim won the Peel All-Star Dunk Contest, and believes he can make a huge impact with Humber in his freshmen season. The combination of a strong athletic program and academic reputation convinced him to become a Hawk, and he is a player many around the program expect big things from.

With the exhibition schedule just a few weeks from getting underway and the teams mix of established veterans and exciting newcomers, the decorated Men's Basketball Program appears poised to again compete with Canada's best.
