HAWKS BOLSTER ROTATION WITH THE ADDITION OF BRANDON LYONS

Coming off a 12-6 campaign that saw the Hawks Baseball Program post a plus-68 run differential, Humber bolstered an already strong rotation on Friday with the addition of Brandon Lyons.

Lyons comes to Etobicoke after two years at Kansas City Community College; in 2014/15, he posted a 4.50 era for a team that went 33-25. Prior to heading south Brandon was named a ROPSSAA All-Star at Humberview Secondary School, as well as a High School All-Star. He also excelled with the Bolton Brewers Club Team.

The Bolton native brings an edge from his time as an enforcer with the Orangeville Flyers Junior 'A' Team, where he earned a reputation as a tough nosed player. His father was a fifty-goal scorer with the Windsor Spitfires.

The 6'3" righty plays the infield as well, and his positional flexibility gives Humber options going forward. His decision to become a Hawk came down to a combination of academics and athletics; he has enrolled in the Business Program. Lyons first year goal is to help lead the program to a Provincial Championship, and he joins a starting group that already includes a trio of the provinces top pitchers in Brandon Costa (2.63 era), Tyler Goertzen (3.63 era) and James Byrnes (3.77 era, including a no-hitter).

Humber goes into the 2015 season primed to compete with Ontario's best, with their most complete roster to date. For the Hawks 2014 results, statistics and more, click here.

Tryouts open on Monday, August 24th at Connorvale Park from 2:00pm-4:30pm.
