The Storyline
No. 3 Humber men's basketball (8-0, 1st West) will conclude the first half of the season Saturday when St. Clair (3-4, 7th West) visits the North Campus Gym.

The game will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network at 6 p.m. with Matt Hamel and Andrew Milani on the call, and Danielle Dupuis reporting from the sidelines.

Last Time Out
Led by DeQuon Cascart and Jaylan Morgan, the Hawks were able to hold off the Redeemer Royals for their eighth straight game to open the season. Up 11 at the break, Humber allowed the Royals back into the game before finally icing the Royals in the final minutes.

Scouting St. Clair

  • The Saints have had a roller coaster season to begin the 2018 campaign, losing in double-overtime to Mohawk before upsetting Niagara at home.
  • St. Clair's perimeter defence ranks last in the west division, allowing opponents to shoot 38.4 percent (103-of-268) from beyond the arc.
  • Third-year guard David Gomez is leading the team offensively, averaging 23.1 PPG through his first seven games.
  • The Saints are 6-22 all-time at the North Campus Gym. Last win: 76-75 (10/27/13).

Previous Meeting
DeQuon Cascart and Fowzi Mohamoud combined for 30 points as the Hawks cruised to the win, 98-86, on Feb. 17 at the North Campus Gym.

Protect the Paint
The Saints rank 15th in the league in 3-pointers made.

Moving On Up
Humber opened up the season as the ninth-ranked program in the CCAA. After eight straight wins – two over ranked opponents – the Hawks have moved up to No. 3 in the country.
Streaking

The Hawks have begun the season with eight straight wins, the most since opening the 2010-11 campaign with 12 straight victories. The eight straight wins are the most for a first-year head coach since 2010-11, as well.

Second Chances
Humber ranks third in the league in offensive rebounds, averaging 18.4 ORPG. Kevin Otoo, Micqueel Martin, Jaylan Morgan each average over 2.0 offensive boards-per-game for the Hawks.

Protection
In Wednesday's win over Redeemer, Humber's ten turnovers were its lowest amount in the Samson Downey era.

What's Next?
No. 3 Humber will return to OCAA action after the holiday break with its annual trip to southwest Ontario to play St. Clair (3-4, 7th West) on Jan. 12 and Lambton (5-4, 6th West) on Jan. 13.
