ERIE, PA: The Humber Hawks women's and men's golf teams will get off to an early start this spring by heading to the US to play in the Gannon University Spring Invitational.

The event, which is being held at the Lakeshore Golf and Country Club in Erie, Pennsylvania, will feature separate women's and men's events over three days.

The men will lead off, playing a one day event on Saturday, April 16. The women will take to the course for a two day tournament on Sunday, April 17 and Monday, April 18.

The Hawks men squad have traditionally played this event, but have been joined this year by the 2015 CCAA national Champion women's team.

The Hawks women will use these events to prepare for the 2016 Golf Canada University/College National Championships, which will be held on May 31 – June 3 at the Morningstar Golf Club in Parksville, British Columbia. The Humber men have won this title on three occasions (03-04, 06-07, 10-11), while the women have been close in the past but have been unable to snare a title.
