HAWKS WOMEN LEAD AFTER ROUND ONE OF PROVINCIALS

HAWKS WOMEN LEAD AFTER ROUND ONE OF PROVINCIALS

WELLAND, Ontario: Heading into the 2015 OCAA Women's Golf Championships it was clear to see that it would be a dogfight between a number of teams, and this thought has rang true after Day One.

The Hawks lead the pack, but only by two strokes over Georgian and three over St. Clair, in what is one of the closest races of all time on the women's side.

Humber shot 155, Georgian 157 and St. Clair 158.

Scoring for Humber was;

Sheila McKeen  77
Sonia Nagindas  78
Michaela DiMarcantonio 78

Sheila McKeen is currently in third place on the individual board, just two strokes back of the defending CCAA National Champion from Niagara, Lorelle Weavers.

Round Two of the three round event will tee off on Tuesday morning, once again from Hunters Pointe in Welland. Early weather reports for Tuesday show possible thunderstorms and rain all day.
