The Storyline

No. 8 Humber will continue its provincial gold medal pursuit Saturday in Oshawa against No. 1 Durham (19-1, 1st East) in the OCAA semifinal. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.

Last Time Out

Humber rolled Sheridan in the quarter-final round at home, defeating their rivals 104-76. Five Humber players finished with double-digit scoring, extending the Hawks' win streak to seven straight games.

Scouting Durham
  • The Lords enter the final four on a 17-game win streak – their only loss coming from George Brown in November, 83-80.
  • O'Shane Taylor Douglas was named the East Player of the Year, averaging 15.4 points and 7.7 assists-per-game this season.
  • Durham's only provincial title came in 1997, where they went on to capture the national championship.

The last time Humber and Durham faced off in the playoffs, the Hawks won 80-65 in the 2014 OCAA bronze medal game. Greg Edelsward finished with a game-high 27 points for Humber in the win.

More than a Semifinal

With a CCAA wildcard, the top two teams from the OCAA will be heading to nationals in Sackville, New Brunswick. Both winners of the semifinals will book a spot at nationals, March 13-16.
