HAWKS MEN AND WOMEN OFF TO A SOLID START ON DAY ONE

STRATFORD, PEI: The Humber Hawks men's and women's golf teams opened the three-round CCAA National Golf Championships on a good note. In fact, the Hawks men who captured OCAA bronze this season, have run out to the team lead.

The women's team check in at the number four spot, training the first place and OCAA champion Georgian Grizzlies by eight strokes. On the positive side, they are just four strokes back of second place.

Connor Watt, of the men's team had an outstanding day, carding four under – 68. He currently sits in second place, one stroke back of the leader. The four Hawk contributing scores all checked in with scores of 75 or better. As a team, Humber sits at 290 on the day.

Sheila McKeen led the Hawks on the day, and currently sits in the eighth spot with her +7 score of 79.  In women's play, the two best women's score towards the team total. Humber checks in with a mark of 161.
