HAWKS ARE TWO FOR TWO TO START DEFENCE OF NATIONAL CROWN

WELLAND, ON: The Humber Hawks women's golf team are off to a fast start  in the 2016 campaign, as they secured their second consecutive tournament team title on Monday at the Niagara Invitational.

On a rainy day, with multiple delays, it was the Hawks that fought through the elements for the win. And, it could have not been any closer than what the final results indicated. Humber and Georgian tied when the final golfer left the 18th green, but it was the Hawks that were awarded the team title, based on the event tiebreaking system.

Sheila McKeen once again led the charge, checking in with a solid 79. 2015 CCAA Bronze Medalist Sonia Nagindas was close behind, carding an 81. Ever improving Lindsay Voogt finished with a respectable 91, considering the rain and delays.

Humber will contend for the OCAA championship crown on October 3-5/16 at Georgian. They hope to move on then to defend their 2015 title at the CCAA championships two weeks later at Holland College in P.E.I.
