No. 4 Humber women's soccer returns to the pitch Wednesday evening against the Fanshawe Falcons at the Ontario Soccer Centre. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.

2022 Highlights
  • The Hawks captured their eighth OCAA championship in program history - the first since 2012.
  • Humber finished on the podium for the seventh straight season.
  • After two seasons, Kaitylnn Russell moved into fifth all-time at Humber with 32 tallies.
  • Keeper Isabella Bernardi was named Humber's Female Athlete of the Year.
At the Helm

Jose Caro returns for his second season as head coach with an all-time record of 13-2-3 (.722). Last season Coach Caro became the first coach in program history to capture a provincial medal in his first season. Kat Conde (9th season) and Marcelo Capozzolo (3rd season) return to Coach Caro's staff this season.

Five-time OCAA medal winner Rebecca Spratt will make her coaching debut with the Hawks. A two-time league all-star, Spratt competed for the Hawks from 2016 to 2022 and sits sixth all-time with 28 tallies.

Home Sweet Humber

Since 2010, the Hawks are 9-1-2 in their home openers. Humber is 88-9-15 (.853) all-time at home.

Fresh Faces

Four players will be donning the navy and gold for the first time this season:

  1. Jasleen Thandi, Defender, Brampton - making postsecondary debut.
  2. Micayla Santaguida, Midfielder, Vaughan - making postsecondary debut.
  3. Anna Afonso, Midfielder, Mississauga - making postsecondary debut.
  4. Kassandra Genova, Midfielder, North York - making postsecondary debut.
Ranked

The Hawks open the season as the fourth ranked program in the CCAA.

Last Time Out

The Hawks battled Redeemer to a 1-1 in the season opener.
