Humber baseball will kick off the 2023 season with a rematch of the OCAA championship game against the St. Clair Saints.

2022 Highlights
  • The Hawks captured the OCAA silver medal, finishing on the podium for the seventh straight season.
  • Troy Black was named the OCAA Coach of the Year after Humber won the 2022 pennant - the third in program history.
  • Offensively, the Hawks scored 163 runs on the season - establishing a new program record.
At the Helm

Troy Black returns for his third season, leading the Hawks to two OCAA silver medals with a 33-8 (.805) record. Kyle Hill (3rd season), Eric Thrower (2nd season), and Zach Prisciak (2nd season) will all return to Coach Black's staff. Brendan Emmett will be joining the staff in his first season.

  1. Xavier Whittle, First Base, Oakville - Appeared in 72 games for Bay College (NJCAA), hitting .337 with 41 RBIs from 2021-23.
  2. Jack Young, Catcher, Peterborough - Competed for the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops (NCAA DIII)
  3. Charlie Towers, Short Stop, Toronto - Competed for the University of Frasier Valley.
  4. Juan Diego Lagunes, Pitcher, Toronto – making postsecondary debut
  5. Callum Blue, Pitcher, Oakville – making postsecondary debut
  6. Mark Rizzotto, Pitcher, Toronto – making postsecondary debut
  7. Jackson Wark, Pitcher, Parhill – making postsecondary debut
Record Watch
  • Slugger Aidan Murphy returns for his fifth season, sitting second all-time with six long balls – three behind Dei Baning's record of nine.
  • Despite only appearing in five games as a Humber Hawk, flamethrower Brandon Deans sits 16 strikeouts away from becoming Humber's strikeout king.
  • Through two seasons, Hudson Lockwood sits first all-time in on-base percentage and sixth all-time in batting average.

The Hawks finished 10-0 last season at Connorvale Park - with an all-time record of 60-23.

Postseason

The top six teams in the regular season will make the postseason, with the top two teams earning a bye into the final four. The championship tournament will be hosted by Seneca College from Oct. 19 to 21.
