Humber Men's Hockey Falls to McMaster in Exhibition Match, 4-2

Etobicoke - On Monday night, the Humber’s Men’s Hockey Team took to the ice for a game for the first time in almost 2 years.  The Hawks hosted McMaster’s club hockey team in an exhibition match up at Westwood Arena in front of fans and family in the stands.

The game opened with McMaster putting an early goal passed starting goaltender, Victor Commisso.  After multiple scoring chances each way, the first period ended with the visiting team up 1-0.  More scoring early in the second period from McMaster saw the score sit at 3-0.

At the halfway point, the Hawks switched goalies and Liam Oakley entered the game between the pipes.  Hawks forward, Michael McCullough, opened the scoring with a power play goal, converting a pass from team captain, Andreas Vena.

In the third period, Panos Tsementzis scored on the power play with another set up from Vena, closing the gap on the scoreboard to 3-2.

In the final minutes of the game, with Oakley called to the bench for the extra player, the Hawks tried to even up the score.  Despite a valiant effort by first year defenseman, Nathan Grosso, to keep the puck out of the empty net, McMaster added to their tally and won the game 4-2.

The two teams will face off again on Monday, December 6th in Hamilton.
