15-1 HAWKS HEAD INTO HOME FINALE LOOKING FOR TWELFTH STRAIGHT WIN

The Women's Basketball Team will be looking to extend their win streak to twelve on Wednesday night when they play host to the Redeemer Royals in the squads home finale.

The 15-1 Hawks are now tied atop the Western Division standings with Mohawk, with the two set to face off in the final game of the regular season. Humber is coming off a dominant performance over arch-rival Sheridan on Friday, a 71-36 decision that saw Ceejay Nofuenete control play from start to finish. The point guard was an assassin from downtown, going four for seven from deep en route to a twenty-one point performance. Aleena Domingo and Ruth Holland combined to do most of the damage down low, totalling twenty-seven points and sixteen rebounds in the win. The Hawks interior presence also dictated the game defensively, nearly holding Sheridan under twenty percent from the field on the night.

Chief among the reasons for the teams current win streak has been the frontcourt duo of Llyandra Kerr and Aleena Domingo, each of whom have averaged over ten points a game while shooting around fifty percent from the floor. Kerr, the team's starting centre, has been among Ontario's best on the boards; her 10.7 a game ranks third in the province. Domingo has the versatility to slide between the power forward and wing positions, more often than not beating plodding bigs down the court.  The two combine for more than seven offensive rebounds a night, providing crucial second chance scoring opportunities.

Ceejay Nofuente has headed up the Hawks attack, averaging five assists a game while shooting nearly forty percent from beyond the arc. She has averaged over eleven points and led the blue and gold down the stretch in a number of close contests; there is no doubt that the ball will be in her hands in late game situations.

The Hawks rank in the top five in nearly all major statistical categories on both the offensive and defensive end. They are first in assists per game, rebounding margin, opponent's field goal percentage, second in total points and fourth in both points scored and allowed per game. Their across the board strength on both ends speak to a roster full of two way players who put equal effort in on the defensive side of the ball.

With a win over Redeemer, the Hawks will face off against Mohawk in the season finale with the Western Division's top seed more than likely to be on the line.
